The Play Champions Setting Award

The Play Champions Setting Award is our way of recognising those amazing settings that have an ongoing commitment to Play and its profound impact on children. Sometimes play is seen as frivolous and low priority and sometimes there is resistance to the idea of play from parents and governing bodies.

This award is for those settings who repeatedly demonstrate that Play is the single most important developmental process in any child’s life and a fundamental human right. It is for those settings who stand up for a child’s right to play and actively promote and support play by going that extra mile. This award is for those settings that don’t just provide amazing play opportunities for their children but actively engage parents and the wider community in the wonderful benefits of play.
